The Queen carried out her first engagement outside of a royal residence since March with her grandson Prince William.The royals carried out the engagement together today as the 94-year-old monarch opened a new £30m Energetics Analysis Centre at the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory at Porton Down.The Queen looked lovely in pink as she arrived by helicopter while Prince William, 38, travelled by car.
The monarch and William met scientists who dealt with the Novichok poisoning attack in Salisbury in 2018 and are helping with the UK’s response to the Covd-19 pandemic.
It is the first time the Queen has appeared in public outside of Windsor Castle, where she has been living, since March. During the coronavirus pandemic, The Queen held.
