Outdoor hospitality was allowed to reopen on Monday April 12, along with hairdressers, gyms, and non-essential retail. The city centre was filled with people once again after months of strict nationwide lockdown.
Shoppers were queueing up outside the Arndale at the crack of dawn, table reservations have all-but vanished across the region, and people waited up to three and a half hours to get into Manchester's beer gardens.
