Netflix have confirmed when the fifth series of The Crown will return.Fans don't have long to wait to the latest instalment of the Royal Family-inspired television series.A post shared on The Crown's official Twitter account revealed season five will drop on November 9.READ MORE: Six historical facts The Crown got seriously wrong - Illness, flings, war and timelinesThe announcement comes less than a week after Queen Elizabeth II was laid to rest.Her Majesty passed away peacefully on September 8, Buckingham Palace confirmed at the time.A state funeral was held for the Queen on Monday, September 19 and was watched by billions of people across the world.The fifth series of The Crown will follow the life and reign of Queen Elizabeth II.Imelda Staunton will star as Elizabeth, along with main cast members Jonathan Pryce, Lesley Manville, Jonny Lee Miller, Dominic West and Elizabeth Debicki.
All cast members are new to the series.Season five marks The Crown's second wholesale recasting, following the ensembles led by Claire Foy and Olivia Colman.
