Matt Smith is mourning the loss of his father David, who died earlier this month. The Crown actor previously described his dad as a 'legend' and said he was the 'greatest influence' on his life.
According to the Mail, Matt was granted compassionate leave from filming Game of Thrones prequel House of Dragon to be with his family after losing his father at the age of 73.
Matt, 38, is now reported to have returned to Cornwall to continue filming the HBO series. A source said: "Matt and his family are all devastated.
David was a rock to them and will be sorely missed. "They all wanted to be together to mourn as they are a real tight-knit family," they told MailOnline.
