A further nine cases of the variant have been confirmed today, according to the latest update from the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA), bringing the total number of confirmed cases in England to 22.
Three cases have been found in Westminster in London, while three other areas of London have recorded two cases each. Single cases have also been confirmed in areas in Lancashire, Merseyside and the East Midlands.
The list does not include Bolton in Greater Manchester, where health officials have said it is 'highly probable' that two Omicron cases have been found.
