Scots cops are hunting a teenage gang over a blaze at a community centre which destroyed clothes, food and playground equipment worth nearly £10,000.

Officers believe two white girls and a white boy, all aged either 15 or 16, are responsible for the deliberate fire, which was started at Venchie Children and Young People's Project, in Edinburgh, last night.

The firebugs responsible placed a wheelie bin against a shipping container at the premises , between 8.30pm and 9pm, and set the bin alight. That caused the shipping container to catch fire, destroying the contents, which are estimated to be worth £10,000.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service raced to the scene and put out the blaze, with nobody being injured during the incident.
