Kneecap have shared new single ‘Fine Art’, as well as talking to NME about recent controversies and what to expect from their debut album.The Belfast rap trio have been making headlines recently after leading the Irish bands boycotting SXSW, in solidarity with Palestine and protest against the showcase festival’s sponsorship from the US military and weapons manufacturers. They’re currently in the midst of a North American tour, after making waves with their debut US TV performance with Jimmy Fallon.Now, ahead of the summer’s release of their self-titled movie starring Michael Fassbender, and long-awaited Toddla T-produced debut album ‘Fine Art’, the band have shared the record’s title track.

Kneecap have performed their collaborative song with Fontaines DC’s Grian Chatten, ‘Better Way To Live’, live on Ireland’s Late Late Show yesterday (February 23) – check out the moment below.Speaking about the song upon its release last November, Kneecap explained that the song “is all about finding that little spark of joy in the monotony, in the day-to-day things that you barely bat an eye at.“In between the moments of that repetitive lift of the pint, or spark of a cigarette, there is an opportunity for bliss. underneath that constant noise, there is a silence that can breathe new life and inspiration breaking through the mundane.”As well as the performance, the band, made up of Mo Chara, Moglai Bap and DJ Próvaí, spoke to host of the show, Patrick Kielty, about their upcoming biopic and political views.The band wore pro-Palestinian badges on the show and told host Kielty: “That’s why we’re here — to highlight the genocide that’s happening in Palestine at the moment.” DJ Próvaí also took his jacket off to show Kielty and the audience he was wearing a Palestine national football shirt.

Fontaines D.C., Massive Attack and Young Fathers have teamed up for a limited edition 12” single to support the charity Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders (MSF).The release, which is available to pre-order now, will feature material by Fontaines and a collaboration between Young Fathers and Massive Attack, alongside a sleeve and print designed by Robert Del Naja.100 per cent of the profits from the single will be donated to the charity to help their emergency operations in Gaza and the West Bank. In a statement, the artists have also called for an immediate ceasefire in the region, “in solidarity with the Palestinian people living under a brutal military operation”The reverse of the sleeve includes a quote from a hospital whiteboard in Gaza written by MSF medic Dr.

Fontaines D.C. have announced that they will release a new version of their third studio album, ‘Skinty Fia‘.The band – consisting of frontman Grian Chatten, guitarists Carlos O’Connell and Conor Curley, bassist Conor Deegan and drummer Tom Coll – took to their official Instagram page to announce the brand new version of the LP along with its artwork.“We’ve got a new version of ‘Skinty Fia’ coming out called ‘Skinty Fia Go Deo’, which translates to ‘Skinty Fia Forever’,” read their Instagram caption.

Fontaines D.C.‘s Grian Chatten has opened up about suffering mental health issues while touring, revealing he previously experienced “fits of anxiety and rage”.The Irish musician and Fontaines frontman, who released his debut solo album ‘Chaos For The Fly‘ this week, reflected on how his attitude to touring has evolved over the years in a new interview with NME.“Around ‘A Hero’s Death’, I was really struggling to reshape myself to fit this new kind of lifestyle, and I was dealing with fatigue… and mental illness; the depression that occurred,” he explained.“The anxiety was pretty intense as well. I was just sick of not fucking living anywhere for five years.
