Depeche Mode’s Dave Gahan has spoken to NME about what the future holds for the band.The iconic frontman caught up with NME recently to discuss his upcoming show in London, celebrating the life of Mark Lanegan at a tribute gig at The Roundhouse. Set to be held tonight (December 5), the show is held at the Camden venue as it was the last venue the former Screaming Trees played in the city, and the date marks what would have been his 60th birthday.Gahan and Lanegan became friends after touring together in the ’00s, before going on to record together with Soulsavers and Humanist.Opening up about his time working with the grunge icon, who passed away in February 2022 at the age of 57, the Depeche Mode singer also told NME about what’s next for the band.Reflecting on life after the 2023 tour he and bandmate Martin Gore embarked on to celebrate the release of ‘Memento Mori’, Gahan said: “To be honest it’s taken me quite a while just to recover after the tour… It was fantastic and ended up being more than what Martin and I could have imagined in many ways.”He continued: “It was a great tour and I’ve just spent the last five months since I got home just trying to get back into my regular life of family, friends, a little bit of writing here and there, but to be honest I’m not that inspired by anything.”Later, he went on to reveal that he had begun the writing process again, but not with any plans for new material in mind.

It begins from 6:30pm GMT, and will include a performance from Indi Li – a rising singer who draws inspiration from Mariah Carey and India Arie.Next Monday (December 9), the performance will be held at Dawsons, located at Number 23.

Reading & Leeds Festivals have confirmed that a new announcement regarding the line-up is on the way.The 2025 edition of the dual-festivals is set to return next summer, and will run between August 21 and 24. It will be held at Richfield Avenue in Reading, and at Braham Park in Leeds.Following the 2024 instalment coming to an end back in August, the hype immediately began for the upcoming edition, with early bird tickets for the 2025 event going live on October 1.Now, organisers have traced the line-up announcement and confirmed that the first wave of artists confirmed will be announced in the next few days.“Okay, okay you can stop asking… First names for 2025 are dropping THIS WEEK,” the caption on a new Instagram post read.

In it, Cave puts forward some of his most emotionally vulnerable and melancholic material and tackles themes of loss, existentialism, faith and death.At the time of its release, it was described by NME as “the most devastatingly accurate accounts of grief that you’ll ever listen to” in a glowing five-star review.Now, Monty Don has shared his fondness for the record too, and said it is one that he finds particularly moving.

Beth Gibbons has announced a one-off live show for 2025, taking place in London on the same weekend as Glastonbury.The Portishead singer, songwriter and lyricist will be heading to Camden in the summer, and performing a show at the Roundhouse venue on June 27.It has been shared as a stand-alone date, and comes in celebration of her debut solo album, ‘Lives Outgrown’. Shared back in May, the project came 10 years in the making, and included singles such as ‘Lost Changes’, ‘Reaching Out’ and ‘Floating On A Moment’.Tickets for the Roundhouse show will go on sale this Friday (November 29) at 9am GMT.

Sleaford Mods and Hot Chip have joined forces for a collaborative double single – listen to ‘Nom Nom Nom’ and ‘Cat Burglar’ below.The two bands released the songs today (November 26) as a seven-inch vinyl and on streaming platforms via Friendly Records in aid of War Child. Both tracks were recorded at the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London.The London group (fronted by Alexis Taylor) invited the Nottingham duo (comprising Jason Williamson and Andrew Fearn) down to take part in one of Abbey Road’s innovative and groundbreaking Lock-In Sessions – which has been captured in a short film.Lead track ‘Nom Nom Nom’ combines “both acts’ best characteristics, creating a suave yet edgy groove that is as happy on the dancefloor as it is in the mosh-pit”, per a press release.Speaking about the ‘Hot Mods’ collab, Williamson explained: “On the day we went in cold and just handed ourselves over to it.
