Smashing Pumpkins guitarist Jeff Schroeder has announced his “meditative” debut solo album ‘Metanoia’.A post shared on both Schroeder and the independent record label Clerestory AV’s Instagram accounts shared that ‘Metanoia’ will “features 72 minutes of meditative guitar work in the spirit of ambient pioneers Fripp & Eno.”The album is set for release on August 23 via Clerestory AV and will be available on a limited gatefold double LP (only 300 copies available) and cassette (only 100 copies available).

Laura Marling has shared a preview of her heartfelt new song ‘No One’s Gonna Love You Like I Can’ from her upcoming album.The English singer took to her official Instagram page to share a video of her performing the song on a piano. “We grew tired of making plans that kept slipping through our hands / and if life is just a dream / I’m gonna make it mean something worth a damn / So no one’s gonna love you like I can,” Marling sang in the video over a soothing piano melody.The snippet of the new track comes weeks after Marling released her latest song ‘Patterns‘ which served as the lead single from her forthcoming eighth studio album ‘Patterns In Repeat’.

Deftones have announced the line-up including IDLES, Sunny Day Real Estate, HEALTH and more for their annual Dia De Los Deftones festival.The 2024 edition of the music bash will take place at Petco Park in San Diego, California on Saturday, November 2. This year’s festival will mark the fifth anniversary of the annual music celebration which is headlined, hosted, and curated by Chino Moreno and co.The one-dayer will also include live performances from IDLES, Sunny Day Real Estate, HEALTH, Paris Texas, Duster, Gel and Qendresa.

The Smashing Pumpkins have shared details of a surprise album called ‘Aghori Mhori Mei’, set to arrive next month.News of the forthcoming project arrived earlier today (July 19), when the band took to their social media accounts to confirm that they had completed work on a new LP and would be sharing it on August 2.It marks the 13th album from the alt-rock icons, and follows on from ‘Atum: A Rock Opera in Three Acts’, which arrived in May 2023. The members will share the release in its entirety next month, and have confirmed that they will not be sharing any singles beforehand.“We played this game of Rock and Roll for 36 years,” frontman Billy Corgan wrote in a statement.

Massive Attack have announced a handful of 2024 North American shows which are set to take place later this autumn.The iconic trip-hop group will make stops in select cities across the US in October. They will play headlining gigs in Atlanta, Washington D.C., Boston and New York City.

Lucy Rose has shared the new music video for her song ‘Sail Away’ which features Danny Dyer. Directed by Dylan Friese-Greene – who previously worked with Rose on the videos for her singles ‘Over When It’s Over’ and ‘The Racket’ – the video sees Dyer lip-syncing to the track while floating over the ocean and standing on the beach.This marks the second time the EastEnders actor has appeared in one of Rose’s videos following her 2016 track ‘Nebraska’ where Dyer starred as a drag queen.“So honoured to have the one and only @dannydyerofficial star in the music video for ‘Sail Away’.

PJ Harvey played a secret surprise gig for her hometown ahead of her performance at Glastonbury 2024.On Thursday (June 27), the musician surprised the residents of Bridport, Dorset – the town where she grew up near and is a resident in – to a show at the Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens on the Jurassic Coast.The gig served as a warm-up for her Glastonbury set and was kept under wraps with the exception of notices posted in Bridport town centre. Laura Marling has announced her forthcoming album ‘Patterns In Repeat’ and has shared the tender lead single ‘Patterns’.‘Patterns In Repeat’ marks Marling’s first release in four years and is set for release on October 25 via Chrysalis/Partisan. Manic Street Preachers have announced details of a new book of previously unseen Valerie Phillips photographs of the band, titled Little Baby Nothings.The book will feature over 200 photographs taken by the artist in 1991 and 1992, around the time of the release of their debut album ‘Generation Terrorists’.It’ll be released on June 28 via Longer Moon Farther and limited to 2000 copies, with the first 100 orders receiving a signed copy. There will also be a limited t-shirt bundle available.

Manic Street Preachers will celebrate the 30th anniversary of their 1994 album ‘The Holy Bible’ with a one-off screening of their concert film BePure-BeVigilant-Behave.The album was the band’s third studio record, written during a period when guitarist and lyricist Richey Edwards was struggling with addiction, depression and anorexia nervosa.For the 20th anniversary in 2014, the Manics played the album in full on a ten-date tour, including at London’s Roundhouse.
