She played dowdy school teacher Jane Spofford in the classic 1987 film The Witches of Eastwick.But Susan Sarandon, 74, revealed she was originally set to play a very different role in the George Miller directed comedy fantasy film at a fund-raiser for LA’s Project Angel Food on Saturday.'I initially was cast in Cher’s part,' said the veteran actress, referring to the sassy and sexy character of Alexandra Medford, who was ultimately played by the singer.
