Neil Lennon

Neil Francis Lennon (born 25 June 1971) is a Northern Irish football coach and former player who is the manager of Scottish Premiership club Celtic. During his playing career he represented English clubs Manchester City, Crewe Alexandra and Leicester City.

Lennon moved to Scottish club Celtic in 2000, where he made over 200 appearances and was appointed captain in 2005. Before retiring as a player, he returned to England and played for Nottingham Forest and Wycombe Wanderers. Lennon made 40 appearances for Northern Ireland in nine years, scoring two goals. Lennon was appointed manager of Celtic in March 2010, initially in a caretaker capacity after the departure of Tony Mowbray.

St Mirren deserved for their pressing, adventurous start to the match. Neil Lennon's side hit back in the first half when Odsonne Edouard put the finishing touch on an excellent break by Callum McGregor.But the Saints refused to stop attacking and retook the lead when Ilkay Durmus plucked the ball off Shane Duffy's foot before calmly volleying past Scott Bain.While Celtic huffed and puffed as they tried to find another leveller in the second half, the Buddies' defence would not be breached with Joe Shaughnessy and Conor McCarthy putting in excellent blocks to keep the hosts out.The impressive win lifts St Mirren above Dundee United into sixth spot, with the Paisley side still with numerous games in hand on their nearest rivals to a top half.
