Hull KR half-back Jordan Abdull is closing in on the early pacesetters after claiming maximum Man of Steel points for the third time in four games.
The 25-year-old pulled the strings for Rovers against Castleford Tigers on Monday night, capping another hugely influential performance with the winning try late on.
All 10 of his points have come in his last four outings, leaving him level with Wigan Warriors full-back Zak Hardaker and only two behind St Helens half-back Jonny Lomax and Catalans Dragons star Sam Tomkins.
Lomax did not pick up any points in round six but Tomkins claimed one for his role in the Dragons’ convincing win at Hull FC.
