Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson Hon FRIBA (born 19 June 1964) is a British politician, writer, and former journalist serving as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and Leader of the Conservative Party since 2019. He was Foreign Secretary from 2016 to 2018 and Mayor of London from 2008 to 2016. Johnson was Member of Parliament for Henley from 2001 to 2008 and has been MP for Uxbridge and South Ruislip since 2015. Ideologically, Johnson identifies as a one-nation conservative.

Boris Johnson announced the country is to continue down its roadmap of lifting lockdown restrictions – meaning overnight stays will soon be allowed once again.For many, the familiar feel of a physical embrace may be a distant memory but from May 17, family, friends and lovers from different bubbles will also once again be allowed to hug each other.Speaking from Downing Street on Monday afternoon, the PM thanked everyone for the sacrifices they had made during the restrictions and said the nation's efforts had "unquestioningly saved lives".He went on: "From next Monday you'll be able to sit inside a pub or restaurant, to go to the cinema, and children will be able to use indoor play areas."From next week, everyone will be able to travel.
