Harry Maguire was loudly booed by England fans after his name was read out at Wembley.England were gearing up for their Nations League match against Germany on Monday night when the team line-up was announced 45 minutes before kick-off.

Maguire kept his place in the team after Friday’s 1-0 defeat to Italy despite facing huge criticism over the past year and recently losing his place in Manchester United’s starting eleven.But despite the faith placed in him by England boss Gareth Southgate, his name was met with mass boos.

And to prove it was no coincidence, the centre-back was jeered once more 20 minutes later when his name was read out again.
