STRICTLY Come Dancing's Robert Webb feared that he "wouldn't make it to Christmas" ahead of major heart surgery in 2019. Earlier today, the 49-year-old star was forced to quit the BBC show due to "ill health" off the back of the op.

It comes just weeks after he opened up about his congenital heart defect, revealing that just 18 months ago he was unable to walk or lift a kettle as he recovered from the life-saving procedure.

Discussing his diagnosis, the Peep Show comic shared: "I just thought: ‘This is my lifestyle and this is what it feels like to be 47.’ “But it’s a birth defect — one of the valves in my heart had prolapsed instead of opening and shutting nicely.
