This year’s Strictly Come Dancing contestants are the most competitive bunch ever to take to the ballroom – with eight out of 12 declaring they are “in it to win it”.
As we get the first glimpse of them in their costumes, it seems that confidence levels aren’t necessarily pegged to ability, with both boxer Nicola Adams and ex-politician Jacqui Smith admitting they can’t actually dance.
Despite this, Adams said: “My competitive nature is coming back out again as soon as you put a title, any title on the line for anything, I want to win.” And Smith agreed: “I’m a very, very competitive person.
