Strictly Come Dancing star was confirmed on Thursday's instalment of the BBC Breakfast.Hosts Charlie Stayt, 60, and Naga Munchetty, 47, were privy to the information before anyone, as the TV stars confirmed that Two Pints Of Lager And A Packet Of Crisps, and Coronation Street, star Will Mellor will be taking part in this year's competition.The actor, appeared on the breakfast programme explaining his reasons for taking part.READ MORE: BBC Breakfast guest speechless as presenter walks off halfway through Commonwealth chatHe told the Naga and Charlie that Strictly had been his mum Shirley's favourite show and he wanted to give her something to look forward to after a rough few years as a family.Will added that his mum "had a tough few years" after the death of his dad a various family members during Covid outbreak and he wanted her to have something "positive" to look forward to.

Speaking about his previous dance skills, he revealed he had been part of a musical Oh What A Night.
