Strictly Come Dancing's launch show on Saturday is said to have received 7million viewers and peaked at 7.3million. According to reports, this is the the BBC One show's "lowest audience" since it first introduced the pairing episode in 2010.
Strictly's 2020 launch show saw 8.6million viewers, 2019's had 7.8million while the first-ever episode, which took place eleven years ago, got 8.7million.The highest-ever launch show was in 2016 with 9.3million viewers tuning it to watch the opening pairings episode.
However, it has since been claimed that the warm weather was a factor to blame for the lower viewing figures during Saturday's launch show.
