Neil Lennon

Neil Francis Lennon (born 25 June 1971) is a Northern Irish football coach and former player who is the manager of Scottish Premiership club Celtic. During his playing career he represented English clubs Manchester City, Crewe Alexandra and Leicester City.

Lennon moved to Scottish club Celtic in 2000, where he made over 200 appearances and was appointed captain in 2005. Before retiring as a player, he returned to England and played for Nottingham Forest and Wycombe Wanderers. Lennon made 40 appearances for Northern Ireland in nine years, scoring two goals. Lennon was appointed manager of Celtic in March 2010, initially in a caretaker capacity after the departure of Tony Mowbray.

Stiliyan Petrov has hailed Hoops skipper Scott Brown for leading his team to a much-needed victory over Motherwell. The 4-1 win at Fir Park eased growing pressure on manager Neil Lennon during a run of poor form that saw the Parkhead club record just one win in six games before Sunday's clash.

Petrov just missed out on the chance to play alongside Brown, having left for Aston Villa one year before the current captain arrived from Hibs - but he knows the impact the 35-year-old has on the dressing room.

He was hooked in Thursday's dismal defeat to Sparta Prague but Brown put in a much better showing against the Steelmen, with Celtic storming to the win through Mohamed Elyounoussi's hat-trick and a late strike from Olivier Ntcham.
