Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.
He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,
Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.
Rangers boss shut down talk of anything apart from the Kilmarnock game. The Ibrox side have been relentless in their pursuit of the Premiership title this season and stood 18 points clear going into the clash with Tommy Wright 's side.
However, it's not just trophy talk that Gerrard wants to avoid as he knocked back the chance to talk about personal accolades ahead of kick-off.It looks set to be a big day for skipper James Tavernier as he hits a personal landmark for the club.
However, when asked about captain making his 200th appearance on Rangers TV, the boss bit back: "Not interested, not interested, three points."Presenter Emma Dodds and pundits Alex Rae and Neil McCann could see the funny side of the curt response.
