Steven Gerrard insists he won’t be satisfied with qualifying for the knockout stages of the Europa League by finishing runner-up in Group D.The Ibrox boss knows a point at home to Standard Liege will see his team through the group stage for the second year in a row but he’s adamant that wouldn’t render next week’s trip to Poland for the final game against Lech Poznan as a meaningless exercise.He has set his side, currently level on points with Benfica but top of the group due to scoring three times in Lisbon while the Portuguese only scored two in Glasgow, the target of winning both remaining games to stay there.
Gerrard has guided his team through an unbeaten 22-game domestic and European programme this term and wants the run to continue.
