In “Beautiful Beings,” a horrendously bullied youth forms a tentative rapport with a trio of tough outsiders. Together, the boys experiment with aggression and violence, but also learn about loyalty and love.The action is captured with a shooting style that blends naturalism and lyricism, using mostly first-time young actors.

Top Boy and Steve McQueen‘s Small Axe, has joined the cast of Sam Mendes’ new film, Empire Of Light.Plot details for the upcoming movie – which co-stars Oscar winner Olivia Colman – have been kept under wraps, but according to Deadline, the film is a love story that will take place in a scenic old cinema on the South Coast of England in the 1980s.The film will also see 1917 cinematographer Roger Deakins reunite with Mendes for the film.Deadline reports that Ward, who scooped the EE BAFTA Rising Star Award in 2020, won Mendes and the film’s execs over at a recent table read for the role.Ward is currently filming the next series of Top Boy.

Michaela Coel might be joining the warrior women of Wakanda. According to Variety, the screenwriter, author, and performer has joined the cast of the upcoming Black Panther sequel.

Michaela Coel is set to join the cast of Marvel’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. She joins Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright, Daniel Kaluuya, Winston Duke, Lupita Nyong’o, Florence Kasumba and Angela Bassett who will likely reprise their roles from the original film. Ryan Coogler returns as director. Production is currently underway in Atlanta.

According to Variety, Coel joined the production at Atlanta’s Pinewood Studios, where director Ryan Coogler started production last month. The sequel will premiere in theaters on July 8, 2022.Representatives for Marvel Studios and Coel did not immediately return requests for comment from The Post.Just last week, London-born Coel, 33, was nominated for a 2021 Emmy Award for Best Actress in a Limited Series or TV Movie for her HBO series, which at least partly fictionalized her experience as a sexual assault survivor.
