St Mirren chairman John Needham slapped with SFA fine for Rangers fans comments

St Mirren chairman John Needham has been fined by the Scottish FA for historic social media comments about Rangers supporters.The Buddies supremo, who stepped into the role in the summer having previously been a SMiSA-appointed director, faced a hearing for tweets regarding fans of the Ibrox club.Rangers wrote to St Mirren as well as the SFA and SPFL to register their anger at the comments at the time.

Those comments were investigated by the SFA for a potential breach of rule 77, which requires any "football body, club, official, team official, other member of team staff, player, match official or other person under the jurisdiction of the Scottish FA" to always act in the best interests of Scottish football.
