Special parking measures introduced to assist health service staff and patients at Hamilton car park

Special measures are being brought in at the car park between Beckford Street and Douglas Street in Hamilton.South Lanarkshire Council say this is to help health service staff and patients during the coronavirus issue, as the NHS’s Douglas Street Clinic is experiencing greater than usual footfall.This means additional car parking is required for health employees and patients, so one third of the car park, which is used by council staff and the general public, will be designated for this purpose, from today Monday, (March 23).The authority say there will still be a large number of other spaces available for general use within the car park, and other free parking is available nearby, such as the car parks on the other side of Beckford Street
