Spain travel update as unvaccinated Brits set to be welcomed back 'within days'
dailystar.co.ukholidays boost!Currently, only those who are fully vaccinated against Covid or have proof of recovery can enter the country for holidays - but all that could change 'within days'.That's because the country's Industry, Commerce and Tourism minster, Reyes Maroto., has said that the rules will be relaxed 'within days' for unvaccinated travellers from non-EU destinations.She told local radio station Onda Cero that unvaccinated travellers will once again be able to come for holidays, although they will still be required to show proof of a negative Covid test result.Currently, unvaccinated travellers can't head for holidays in Spain, although exceptions have been made for unvaccinated children aged 12-17 who have a negative PCR test or can show proof of Covid recovery.The news that Spain is due to relax its rules comes as a huge boost for the summer - after all, Spain has long been a hotspot for Brits with its brilliant beaches, amazing nightlife, and all-inclusive resorts.Speaking of all-inclusive resorts, if you're planning to head to Majorca or Ibiza, you may want to take note of a new drinks limit that the Balearics government has introduced.In a bid to crack down on boozy Brits, authorities now have a six drinks limit.
That's six a day alongside lunch and dinner - meaning that you'll only be able to have three drinks per meal. Essentially, no more free drinks poolside; you'll need to pay extra for those cocktails.The restrictions had been on the cards for a while.
Earlier this year, Balearic Islands Tourism minister Iago Negueruela said of the move: "We want British tourists - we don't want this type of tourism."British tourism is essential for our islands.
