Social housing on site of vacant Lanarkshire sports centre given green light

A new development of affordable flats on the site of a former sports centre in East Kilbride has been given the go-ahead. South Lanarkshire Council’s (SLC) planning committee approved the housing association development this week after hearing full details of the plans for the site of the former Greenhills Sport Centre.The development will see 28 new, two-bedroom flats built for social rent by Merchant Homes Partnership on behalf of Sanctuary Housing Association, one of the country’s largest independent social housing providers.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
