Snow starts to fall across Scotland as road chiefs urge caution

Forecasters expect 12 inches to fall in some parts with Lothian, Borders, Strathclyde and parts of south west Scotland will seeing the worst of the conditions before the warning lifts at 8am tomorrow morning.
Around 10cm will blanket the majority of these areas but the snowfall could rise to as high as 30cm on higher ground.With the snow now falling roads bosses have warned people to be careful when driving.Traffic Scotland advised motorists to check the forecast before setting out, tweeting pictures of snow covered routes.They tweeted: "Starting to see.
