Snooker star Willie Thorne cannot move his arms and legs, feed himself or put a drink to his mouth after being struck down by sepsis.
The cueman has been discharged from a Spanish hospital where he has been undergoing chemotherapy for leukaemia and allowed to return to his rented home in Alicante.
But his friend Julie O’Neill, who is looking after him, said she cannot understand why medics have sent him home as he appears to be battling potentially life-threatening sepsis.
Since being diagnosed with leukaemia in March the snooker star turned TV commentator has undergone three blood transfusions and treatment for a virus.
