Coronavirus infection rates have fallen in all ten boroughs of Greater Manchester - as every borough has seen the rates fall by at least 50 per cent.
One borough, Wigan, has seen cases continue to plummet by as much as 61 per cent, data has revealed. And across the region, six boroughs also now have rates below the national average.
Currently, Tameside continues to have the highest coronavirus infection rate in Greater Manchester, with 1095 cases per 100,000 people as of week ending January 15th. In Greater Manchester as a whole, the infection rate is now 961.2 cases per 100,000 population. The infection rate in the region is lower than the national average, which is 965.0 cases per 100,000 people.
