Former Manchester United defender Mikael Silvestre has revealed that Sir Alex Ferguson used to skip training for two or three days in a row during his 27-year reign at the club.
Fergie ruled with an iron fist at Man Utd and players feared he would unleash the infamous 'hairdryer' should they get into trouble on nights out or put in underwhelming performances on the pitch.
But the Scot was also laid back when things were going well and he would sometimes leave training the squad up to his right-hand man at the time.
The likes of Steve McClaren, Brian Kidd and Carlos Queiroz all played major roles in United's success throughout the 90s and 2000s.
