The ex-England striker has gone on to represent the likes of Arsenal and Watford, as well as the Seagulls, during his days in the Premier League.Ferguson, United's legendary manager, was renowned for his famous 'hairdryer treatment' during his historic stint in the United hot seat - and Welbeck has revealed that he was on the receiving end of one of the Scot's rants after getting caught up in traffic.
The Brighton star told My Albion TV: "I have been late and I haven't been late since. That was at [Manchester] United. The manager [Sir Alex Ferguson] made sure I was never late again.
It was traffic-related but it's not an excuse. You have got to be there on time, you've got to give yourself enough time to be there.
