Sir Alex Ferguson cheats at snooker, according to former player Paul Ince. The former Manchester United boss, 79, has a table at his home and has asked many of his players to take him on over the years.

On one occasion he convinced Ince to come round to play three frames, but later backtracked so he came out on top.Ince, 53, said: “It was tight at the end of the first frame with just the pink and black left.

I potted the pink and had the black to win.“So I said to Fergie, ‘I’ll give you a chance, I’ll put the black in off five cushions’.

I missed the black, but just. ‘I won,’ he would announce.“It was the best of three frames, as Fergie wanted it from the start, and I would win the next two.
