Simon Cowell is known for his cutting remarks on some of the biggest shows on ITV. He’s had a long career as a music and media mogul and launched talent shows from Pop Idol to Britain’s Got Talent and turned many young hopefuls into superstars overnight.
However, before all the glamour of the music world, Simon started out as a runner on the set of the Stanley Kubrick classic horror film The Shining in 1980.At the time, Simon lived near Elstree studios where the film was being shot.
As well as assisting on set, one of Simon's tasks was polishing the famous axe used by actor Jack Nicholson in the iconic “Here’s Johnny” scene.According to half-brother Tony, Simon took pride in the job saying: “I remember him saying he used to clean Jack Nicholson's axe between takes for the most famous scenes.
