Simon Phillip Cowell (born 7 October 1959) is an English television personality, businessman and record executive. He has judged on the British television talent competition series Pop Idol (2001–2003), The X Factor (2004–2010, 2014–present) and Britain's Got Talent (2007–present), and the American television talent competition series American Idol (2002–2010), The X Factor (2011–2013), and America's Got Talent (2016–present). Cowell is the principal, founder and chief executive of the British entertainment company Syco.

Simon Cowell plans to become 'British Walt Disney' in surprise new business venture

Music mogul Simon Cowell is reportedly making plans to turn himself into the UK's answer to Walt Disney. The X Factor boss, 60, believes the the new set of characters he's developed with son Eric will create a legacy to rival Walt Disney's world famous characters such as Mickey Mouse and the rest of the Disney gang.

Simon has already announced he is creating a series of children's books with Eric, six, but he's already thinking ahead to their next project.

According to Sunday People, Simon is launching a range of spin-offs based on the Wishful Creatures books including films, computer games, puzzles, cuddly toys and clothing.
