Northern lockdown rules have banned sex in homes if you do not live together - although hotel romps will be allowed. The sex ban is due to come into force tomorrow for people who live in Greater Manchester, East Lancashire and parts of West Yorkshire.

The changes mean that couples who live apart can no longer gather in each other's homes. It comes as the coronavirus 'R rate' rose above one in the north-west, meaning the virus is spreading.

Anyone who breaches the sex ban could face a £100 fine, although the rules do not apply to hotels, campsites, caravan parks or guest houses and bed and breakfast accommodation.

People who live alone or are single parents with children aged under 18 are also exempt from the new measure. These groups are
