Rangers fans were arrested after Liverpool’s win against the Scottish side at Anfield.The Glasgow club travelled down to Merseyside to play the Reds in a Champions League Group A encounter.

All are still in custody."Even ahead of the game there was trouble, with it reported that some of Liverpool’s murals had been damaged, while offensive graffiti had been sprayed on some buildings in the city - one of which was a piece of Jurgen Klopp, the Liverpool manager.

Blue paint had been splattered over the design.Murals of Alexander-Arnold and Jordan Henderson were also damaged.The local authorities confirmed that an investigation has been launched and officers are working with Liverpool to check CCTV and identify possible suspects.A spokesperson for Merseyside police said: "We can confirm we are investigating offensive graffiti in Anfield and three murals that were damaged in the area.
