'Serial killer' arrested after body found dumped in river but cops fear there may be more victims

The body of his third alleged victim, James Goolsby, was found in Virginia in mid-April after he disappeared sometime around March 25.His remains had been dropped into the Mayo River from a bridge on George Taylor Road in Spencer.Hemphill was found by police on January 25 suffering from a possible gunshot wound to the head.

He was rushed to hospital but died days later on February 1.On March 10, Gilbert was found badly beaten near a bin and died later that day from his injuries.Court records alleged Richardson took the victim's car, phone and wallet.The third alleged victim, Goolsby, was reported missing on March 28 with investigators believing foul play was involved.Along with charges for the murders, Richardson was also charged with possessing a firearm, felony robbery with a dangerous weapon, and two counts of felony concealment of death or tampering with a corpse.According to warrants Richardson allegedly may have dismembered some of the victim’s remains.Another man, Jonathan Murphy, 38, was also arrested and charged with first-degree murder in the death of Hemphill.Court records showed text messages between Murphy and Richardson, possibly connecting them to the murder.
