The payments are designed to help people self-isolate for the required period to stop the spread of coronavirus. The Scottish Government will be targeting those on Universal Credit or legacy benefits who are employed or self-employed, the shielding list, those aged over 70 and disabled people.
Shirley-Anne Somerville, Cabinet Secretary for Social Security, confirmed the news during the daily coronavirus press briefing.
