Scottish Power investigating power cuts in Paisley as whole neighbourhoods left without electricity

A power outage is currently affecting properties in the Paisley area.Scottish Power say they are unable to give a time when homes and business will be reconnected to supply, but that they are working to rectify the problem as soon as possible.The problem was first reported around 9.40am and is said to be affecting those in the PA1 postcode as well as G52 and G53.Don't miss the latest headlines from around Renfrewshire.

Sign up to our newsletters here.Scottish Power say that power has been restored to some properties already, but around 400 properties currently remain without power.It's not yet known what's caused the power cut..A statement on the SP Energy Networks site reads: "There is power cut in the G52, G53 and PA1 postcode areas of Glasgow and Paisley."We had no advance warning of this and only became aware of it at 9:42am.

Our control centre will attempt to reset the network remotely to restore power in stages, and we will also send our next available engineer to attend site.
