Anas Sarwar has rejected the Scottish Government proposals, UK Labour is asking for certification to access its conference in Brighton later this week.
First Minister Nicola Sturgeon recently unveiled plans for vaccine passports as a condition of entry to nightclubs and large events.
However, Sarwar has become one of the chief critics of the plan, warning that vaccine certification could “increase or entrench vaccine hesitancy among harder-to-reach groups”.
He said: “ Scottish Labour ’s opposition to domestic vaccine passports is not opposition for opposition’s sake. We have supported the government at key moments throughout the pandemic.
