Police are warning Scots that it is currently illegal to ride e-scooters in any public place across the country. The electric scooters - which are treated as motor vehicles - are currently legally available to purchase in Scotland.
But cops have warned it's against the law to ride a privately owned e-scooter in any public place in the UK. A statement from Police Scotland says this includes: "roads, pavements, parks, town centres or promenades."They add: "The only place a privately owned e-scooter can be used is on private land with the agreement of the land owner.
