The 45-year-old admitted being unfit to drive through drink or drugs and breaching the Road Traffic Act 1988. She was spared prison and ordered to get help for her alcohol abuse when she appeared in the dock at Ayr Sheriff Court on Wednesday.
Prosecutor Alison McFadyen told the court the offence took place on March 17 in Ayr, South Ayrshire. The court heard a motorist saw Armitage swerving across the road and contacted police.
