Taylor Alison Swift is an American singer-songwriter. She is known for narrative songs about her personal life, which have received widespread media coverage. At age 14, Swift became the youngest artist signed by the Sony/ATV Music publishing house and, at 15, she signed her first record deal.

Her 2006 eponymous debut album was the longest-charting album of the 2000s in the US. Its third single, "Our Song", made her the youngest person to single-handedly write and perform a number-one song on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Swift's second album, Fearless, was released in 2008.

Buoyed by the pop crossover success of the singles "Love Story" and "You Belong with Me", it became the US' best-selling album of 2009 and was certified diamond in the US. The album won four Grammy Awards, and Swift became the youngest Album of the Year winner.

Scotland has been hit with heavy snow this week with the wintry weather expected to last until the weekend. The Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for snow and ice on Friday as rare phenomenon 'thundersnow' is expected to strike.

Sleet, hail and snow showers have battered Scotland, leading to some travel disruption and build-up on roads. The road between Glasgow and Fenwick in Ayrshire has been particularly affected, with photos showing commuters battling through mountains of snow as transport bosses try to clear it.

Gritters have been out in force on Friday morning to keep the roads clear, with the Met Office warning of slushy conditions which could freeze into dangerous ice.The forecaster also warned of gusty winds and the risk of lightning strikes from isolated thunderstorms in some coastal areas.The Met Office's yellow weather warning is expected to last until midday on Friday.Blustery, heavy wintry showers affecting many areas, especially the west and northwest where the heaviest and most frequent showers, including some snow.
