Scotland set to freeze under ‘Arctic Dome’ bringing in -3C ‘polar spring’

coldest winter for 10 years is set to drag on – with a three-week -3C 'polar spring' seeing chills until Easter.The freezing snap is a result of a a 2,000 mile-wide 'Arctic dome' of cold air which will be blown in from Scandinavia from Wednesday.Scotland's East will be chilled, while the West will be milder with -3C nights due across most of the country.Most of the country will be dry, with snow unlikely.Government weathermen warned of more colder-than-average stints in late March and early April with Arctic air from Greenland expected.Bookmaker Coral cut odds on spring snow and on Easter being the coldest on record to 2/1.The bookies’ spokesman, John Hill, said: “Get ready for a white Easter.”This winter was Scotland's coldest for 10.
