Rescue teams are understood to be desperately searching for a dog believed to be trapped following a house explosion in Preston last night (November 2) Emergency crews were scrambled to the scene, on Gillett Street, just after 10.30pm.
This morning (November 3), images show a whole wall of the property has been destroyed. A man has been left injured with burns and homes were evacuated following the suspected gas explosion The man remains in hospital.
Police discovered the building had suffered significant damage in the explosion and the relief effort continues today. Search and rescue crews are now at the scene, along with Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service and police search dog units. A wall appears to have been completely blown out by the explosion. Lancashire Constabulary has now launched an investigation into the cause of the explosion.
