A jealous, violent bully who subjected his girlfriend to an horrific campaign of mental and physical abuse has been jailed. Stephen Williams, 30, held a knife to his partner’s throat, punched her in the face, poured a corrosive cleaner over her head and threatened to kill her.

He ordered her to give up her job, family and friends. The controlling behaviour lasted months.
