'Saw' Movie Franchise's Future Revealed After 'Saw XI' Canceled

Lionsgate has officially pulled the movie Saw XI from its release schedule amid the film’s cancellation. The 11th movie in the popular horror franchise was originally supposed to be released in theaters on September 26, 2025 and it has been replaced by The Strangers – Chapter 2.

Amid the cancellation of the next Saw movie, Lionsgate is addressing the future of the franchise. Keep reading to find out more… The studio attributed a statement to Billy the Puppet, who said, “I’ve seen the rumors.

They say it’s Game Over. You all should know me better than that. The game is never over.” Saw X was released back in September 2023 and grossed $125 million worldwide.

The trailer for The Strangers – Chapter 2 has already been released and Madelaine Petsch is returning to reprise her role as Maya.
