Saturday Night Live, has died aged 61.Macdonald died today (September 14) after a nine-year private battle with cancer, as confirmed by his management firm Brillstein Entertainment to Deadline.His longtime producing partner and friend, Lori Jo Hoekstra, who was with him when he died, said: “He was most proud of his comedy.
He never wanted the diagnosis to affect the way the audience or any of his loved ones saw him.“Norm was a pure comic. He once wrote that ‘a joke should catch someone by surprise, it should never pander.’ He certainly never pandered.
Norm will be missed terribly.”Macdonald was part of the SNL cast from 1993 to 1998, where he became known as the anchor of the show’s ‘Weekend Update’ segment for three seasons.
