SATURDAY Kitchen host Matt Tebbutt has been rushed to hospital for emergency surgery. The 48-year-old chef revealed he's on a morphine drip ahead of having his infected appendix removed.

He told fans: "Me, a morphine drip and an emergency appendectomy are keeping me from a much anticipated lunch at @manteca_london with @ollysmith @sarah10016 @hardiegrantuk …. "But everything and everyone here at The Grange hospital in Gwent have been fantastic. "Couldn’t ask for more from such a brilliant health service. "So grateful. #nhs #nhsnurse #thegrangehospital #appendectomy." Matt looked perky as he posed with his face mask on next to the morphine drip.
