Salford Red Devils have retained playmaker Chris Atkin to a new deal. Rugby League understands the versatile pivot has turned down interest from a rival Super League club to stay at the AJ Bell Stadium next season.
Atkin, 28, has been a consistent performer for the Red Devils during the last 12 months, playing in a variety of positions including fullback, halfback and hooker.

Kevin Brown is retiring, Tui Lolohea is heading to Huddersfield Giants and Dec Patton is off-contract at the end of the season.
